Dinosaurs, are simply timeless. They are awe-inspiring, fascinating, and continue to capture the modern imagination.

This spectacular 1911 is the one for Dinosaur aficionados, and features excavated dinosaur bones in deep relief stainless steel, amidst the cracked earth texture across the slide. An incredibly detailed Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton encompasses the left side of the slide, as a Raptor tries to escape his path on the slide cover. A Triceratops is likewise frozen in time on the right side of the slide, and a dramatic top view of a full T.Rex skeleton stretches over the top. A Pterodactyl is encased on the front strap of the frame.

Etched meteorite texture covers the frame, a symbol of the ultimate extraterrestrial predator that could not be defeated even by the King of the Cretaceous era.

This concept development started five years ago as a tongue-in-cheek response to the claim that ‘the 1911 is a dinosaur.’ The final result, however, is an incredible and fully functional work of art, worthy of passing down to the next generation. And for the future archeological record, it is a reminder of the era in which the 1911, like the T.Rex of ages past, was King.

This is a special edition, custom engraved Colt 1911 Government, .45 ACP, designed and engraved by Merlin Enright. An ALTAMONT® Exclusive.
